Our Care

Barford Care is a developing organisation, which provides high standards of care for young people from local authorities across the United Kingdom. Our homes are tailored to meet the specialised needs of the young people placed within them and are situated in both rural locations and within residential communities. We have demonstrated a proven record of accomplishment in engaging young people within their care, particularly where their behaviours often results in placement breakdowns. We have a strong emphasis on supporting staff in working with the young people, through consultation meetings with therapists, supervision, process groups and staff training. With this collaborative and supportive way of working, we are able to identify the young persons care needs and develop care plans, identify areas of risk and implement management strategies.

We strive to ensure that our placements provide stable and high standards of therapeutic care with clinically researched and appropriate interventions. We also operate a care team system in which staff and young people can begin to develop safe and secure attachments, maybe for the first time, and where we can support young people to undertake task focused work and life story work. Equally, we support young people to develop and grow building identities and self esteem and provide the care and space for play and leisure in a supportive environment.

It is our joint partnership of Our Education, Care and Our Therapy that is instrumental to our success in supporting staff in their therapeutic care work and achieving positive outcomes for young people.

At Barford Care, we aim to provide a therapeutic space where young people can safely begin acknowledging their experiences whilst building a secure platform for them to move into fostering, re-connections with family members or a move towards independent living.

The overall aim of Barford care is to provide young people with secure attachments in a safe nurturing environment to enable exploration and growth with the appropriate levels of risk taking, boundaries and behaviour modification.
