Barford care provides a secure base, which gives young people the opportunity and the right environment to develop a sense of trust, self worth, security, and to develop secure emotional attachments.

We believe that by building a secure relationship and working alliance the young person can start to explore aspects of their inner world.

Every young person has the right to feel safe, valued, accepted for whom they are and to be able to express their own uniqueness.

With the concept of an overall therapeutic alliance across the company, our young people are treated with respect and compassion.
 
       
 

Our team includes the director of therapeutic care, a family therapist, Cognitive Behavarioul Practitioner, Psychodynamic Practitioner and an Integrative Practitioner.

Our entire therapeutic team are registered with professional bodies and follow the ethical guidelines of that organisation.

The therapeutic team all have regular external clinical supervision, and on going personal and professional development.

Therapy takes place in a purpose built centre providing a safe and therapeutic environment. WithinTherapy Centre this setting we can offer 1-1 therapy, group therapy, family therapy and ongoing staff supervision. The centre has a number of therapeutic rooms which can accommodate most types of therapy.

Our aim is to promote a therapeutic environment which spans across the company, involving therapists and care staff alike. This gives the young person an overall therapeutic experience which involves Attachment, Containment, Communication, Involvement and Responsibility.
